CONFIDENCE AND CONFIRMATION

What did Moses have to learn to do? Exodus 4: 6, “Furthermore the Lord said to him, ‘Now put your hand in your bosom.’ And he put his hand in his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, like snow.” What a strange thing. God could have brought mighty miracles. He could have spread Moses a feast in the desert. He could have shown him how he would draw the water from the rock and how he did not need to fear because in the midst of the desert was the water. He could have shown him the manna. He did not do all that, and yet, that is what we want God to do for us. God does great things. As we say, “Lord let that water come out before I have confidence in You. Please show me the quail, so I can show the people where they are. God just give me the answer.”

No, God said put your hand in your bosom and when Moses took his hand out it was leprous. Why was his hand leprous? Do you know what the people of Israel said to Joshua? “ We will fall into your hands, do what you will with us.” Moses could not have confidence in his power to manipulate Israel. Imagine that hand that does great works, and it becomes leprous.

Some of us have leprosy, spiritual leprosy. We have no feelings. We are outcasts and unclean. How do you become clean? In all of us, flesh can become leprosy. Moses had to put back the hand in his bosom and it came out clean.

What does the Lord say about confidence? I trust Him and not in my ability or in what I know or in what people say or believe, but confidence in Him because I know I can trust Him. “In the fear of the Lord is the strength of confidence and his children shall have a place of refuge.” In Isaiah 30:15 it says, “ And in confidence and quietness shall be your strength.”

What happens when I walk in that confidence? How does God show forth greatness? How do you know it is not your greatness and is God’s greatness? There is a difference between my greatness and God’s greatness. There are big men and women, but it does not mean that they are great men. Greatness has to come through the confirmation of God. Any greatness has to be confirmed. Confirmed means to be accomplished, to be clearer, established, strengthened, secure and safe.

What does the Lord do? He does not do anything. My confidence comes from within, but He confirms it from without. There is no confirmation in secret. What God will speak to you in secret, has to be confirmed in the light and in public. As I walk in that confidence, even if hundreds and thousands of people come against me, when it is of God, it has to be confirmed. If you tell me that God speaks things to you and there are no confirmations in your life that people will see the fruits and the results, then something is wrong. God said He would confirm His word with signs and miracles and wonders.

How do I receive confirmation, to be clear, to be established? I was a little German girl who had no role models. Every one told me that I did not look holy and that I did not act holy and I did not fit in anywhere. Yet, I knew something was inside of me burning, and that I had to brake out and be what God wanted me to be. How did I receive my confirmation?

I had to take that snake by the tail. For me that snake was the German system, the German customs. That snake looked like it would bite me, and it would hiss at me. However, it could not bite me but turned into a rod in my hand, not on the ground. I had to pick up that thing which would bite me to be confirmed.

God spoke to Moses in the desert, but He confirmed Him not only in Israel but also before Pharaoh. He was chosen to do great things for God. Do not think God is always mystical. He is very plain and simple. He does what He says. Thirty-six years later I do not waiver in my calling in God. I know it. It might shock you, but some things I do not have to pray about anymore. I know it is God. Some things I do not have to wrestle with anymore. I know it is God. I am confident because I have been confirmed. There are places where I know I have to be confirmed. However, I reach for the high calling in Christ Jesus.

I have been in a place of disagreement where others did not agree with me, and I did not believe in it. In times like that, you lack power because agreement is power. That does not mean that you are not going to serve God if they do not, but you have to find a place of agreement. God did not say that you have to agree with your husband, your wife, or your kids. He said, “Where two or three agree in my name it shall be done.” Matthew 18:19

What must we do? For many years, I have done things alone, then David and I married, and we did things together. We had to find a place confirmation and agreement, a strengthening, that we were able to do things; we thought we could never do.
In His Love,
