COUPLES OF DESTINY V

Four rivers flowing out of the garden formed the boundaries that existed in the garden of Eden. A river always speaks of a flow, and very few people have a flow. There are a lot of flash floods that bring up a lot of garbage, and the ministry takes it outside the camp, but it does not bring purity. Natural pure water without a cleaning system will not stay clean without an outlet. Many of us are reservoirs of stagnant water, and we have no outlet. The water evaporates from the heat, and dirt and impurities are not removed. When God pours in the water, we lose the water through evaporation because of the heat of tribulation.

God says in John 7:38, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” That means there is a flow of life in us without strife and struggle, and we yield with the current of what God has for our life.

There were four rivers in the garden of Eden. Four always speaks of foundation. Genesis 2:11, “The name of the first is Pishon;” and it is the one which encompasses the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. Havilah means gold. Eden means delight and beauty. When we make a home, it should be a house of delight and beauty. Many of us have homes of strife. We do not show the beauty of relationships, so we really do not have homes, but houses where beauty and delight does not exist. We build houses of independence, of knowledge, and we use the Bible to do it.

The first river Pishon means freedom. To be free we have to go on a chosen fast. I have done a lot of fasting, especially in my earlier years. When we fast we withhold, and when we fast, God changes our taste buds. We cannot have a taste for new food if we keep on eating our familiar food, naturally speaking. How can we know the closeness of the Lord if we are afraid to fast from our wife or husband to fulfill God’s destiny or calling? How do we know His comfort if we always need a person to fill us? How do we know His strength if we always need the confirmation of man? How do we decrease if we always need man’s approval to make us aware of who we are? I must fast or withhold myself to be free from things that I need.

Freedom has nothing to do with being independent. We only become free when we know our borders and we let God build our home with beauty and delight. We can never find the gold of deity if we are not free. That is why Saul lost his throne because he brought forced sacrifices. He was not free from the people’s opinion. We love God, but some of us make forced sacrifices. We force ourselves to do things. It is not our delight. We want to do good because we want to be accepted; we want to have a ministry; we want to have a man or woman, and we want to be some body. We are driven, and when we are driven, we can never be led.

Leading has nothing to do with deciding which dress to wear or what food to buy. Jesus says in John 16:13, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” “The truth sets free.” God’s way is to give us freedom, freedom to flow because of a boundary in our lives. Freedom will protect our garden, and it will protect our environment. Freedom will protect our relationship, and it will protect who we are.

In His Love,
