A HEAVENLY VISION

Genesis 30:14-18 speaks of Leah and her fifth son, Issachar. Genesis 49:14, “Issachar is a strong donkey, Lying down between two burdens;”

Issachar means a donkey. He was born between the striving of Rachel and Leah. Leah felt unloved and when a woman feels unloved she will do anything for love and to find favor. As Reuben finds the mandrakes and Rachel is desperate to have a son, she agrees to let Leah go to Jacob for one night in exchange for the mandrakes. Leah went to Jacob not because she loved him, but to find favor because she was desperate to have love. She conceived the son Issachar that means reward. Many of us already have our rewards because we pay a price to come into the place that we feel God has for us. Very few women pay a price to serve God, or to lay down their lives, but many of us pay great prices to be accepted and to be recognized to be some one.

Issachar is a strong donkey lying down between two burdens. God is going to release us from our burdens because there has to come a place in our lives where Jesus Christ becomes what we preach. He will bring us into a place where we will no longer carry the burden of the family, finances, and The Church, and where we come to a place of freedom and liberty to become what Jesus died for. He did not die for us to carry everyone’s burden. He died for us that we might find a place where we can lay down the burdens on the foot of the cross and walk in liberty and in power to receive what God wants us to receive.

God allows us to have burdens, and we don’t lie down unless the burden becomes too heavy that we cannot carry them anymore. A donkey has its limitations; even a woman has her limitations, so much so, that we can no longer go on. What happens when our burdens are too heavy? We lie down between the sheepfolds and amongst the sheep and we desire earnestly for that which is good. I believe that for many women today, there has to come a new yearning within their lives, not only that they are fulfilled, despite their disappointments, but to please Him who died for them so that Jesus Christ will take on a new level in order for us to express Him differently. How can we express Christ if we do not find rest?

When a donkey walks around with a burden on his back, do you think that he will get a heavenly vision? An ox or a donkey that has a burden upon its neck is forced to face downwards. Many of us love God, but we do not have a heavenly vision. Our neck speaks of our body language, and as our neck is taking our head and forcing it towards the ground, our vision is born out of desperation, anxiety, needs and loneliness. In order for our vision to be born out of the illumination and the glory of God, we have to lift our heads and say like Paul, I am obedient to the heavenly vision because that is what is imparted into my life.
In His Love,
