DRAW NEAR TO ENTER
“And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.” (2 Kings 2:7)
Many “called ones” view the Jordan experience from a far-off position and that is exactly why they never obtain the complete transformation of their identities. There are multitudes of men who have felt the call and anointing upon their lives but have never allowed the calling to transform them. Our vision will always be from a far-off position if we do not direct ourselves to walk on the path of the vision that will take us where we do not necessarily want to walk, but must walk. The vision will not come to us to find its fulfillment, but we have to walk on the path which will cause the fulfillment of the vision to occur in the transformation of our beings, our trinity and our identity with God as we follow it.
The knowledge of death is worse than the actual act of dying. The dying is not the difficult part. It is acquiring the willingness to die that is the most difficult job for us. That is why Jesus said in (Luke 9:24) “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. It does not happen only at the hour of physical death, but it happens at the hour of choosing, while we yet live in the flesh. It creates a mindset that John spoke about when seeing Jesus as the Lamb of God. He said in (John 3:30), “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
The Jordan River was again the place of dying to self as John baptized thousands into the preparation for the kingdom. It was there that Christ Himself was baptized by John in obedience to the Father.
“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16 - 17)
Death to self will open the heavens to us and will bring a conscious awareness and assurance to us that the Father is pleased by our lives. Goodness alone will not please the Father nor obedience to laws. The Father looks for the decreased self that has yielded its selfish desires to the workings of the Spirit so that we are pleasing to Him. From this desire, the Father will not hold back the vision of His Glory but will reveal Himself to us.
“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” (John 10:17-18) “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? … If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:10 and 23)
In His Love,
