INTERPRET YOUR DREAM

My ministry started in South Africa when they never had a woman’s ministry come to them in that way. Before I ever began to preach in South Africa, God gave me a dream, a dream that gave me a vision. I dreamed in the night and wrestled with the rejection that I felt as a woman in ministry. The first four years in South Africa were difficult years and I was ready to go back to America, but God gave me a dream. I dreamed and I saw myself preaching and saw how the people did not like me. I could identify with that feeling because many times people did not like me, but it did not matter how many dislikes they had, God gave me favor, and the crowds grew. So in my dream I would walk in the church and it was packed completely full, and I would say to my friend, “They don’t like me, but the crowd is growing.” A young couple comes out of the church in the dream, and I said to them, “Can you understand what God is doing?” And they replied and said, “No, we can’t understand either because we really don’t like you, but we can’t help it. We have to listen.” Then I woke up.

We shocked South Africa in the beginning, but now we have many friends. God has given us favor and we can run after the vision.

Why did God give us favor? There is a key in what God did. If we are a dreamer, we have to become an interpreter of dreams. I’m not talking about symbols that we dream, but the dream that is bigger than life.

As Joseph came into prison, the baker and the cupbearer were sad because they could not interpret their dreams. Today, many people are heavy because they don’t understand God’s ways in their lives. They have no direction and no guidance. When Baal says, “I’m god”, they run after Baal. When Elijah comes and kills all the prophets of Baal, they run after Elijah. Aaron builds the golden calf, and they all dance for joy until Moses comes from the mountain and the people scream for fear. People don’t change.

When God gives dreams and prophecies, it is not to lift you up. He has to look for vessels to give direction and establish a plumb line so that He can build a nation of dreamers, and a people who will have power because they know His power.

How did Joseph fulfill the dream and receive power? He interpreted the dreams of the baker, the cupbearer, and the dream of Nebuchadnezzar. When I come and open up your heart’s door because of the favor of God and show you who you are and what you want, God will fulfill my own dream.

It is wonderful as Joseph’s brothers came, he didn’t say, “Look at this. Finally my dream is fulfilled. Here are my brothers who put me in the pit, bowing down to kiss my feet and I have the power.” What did Joseph do? He interpreted their dream, and their dream changed as they were humbled by their own wickedness. To fulfill the purpose of God, the dream cannot come from myself, it has to come from yielding to God.
