THE EAGLE NATURE I
I was asking God how my ministry could stir and penetrate the lives of people to make an impact. As I was asking God these questions, one night I had a dream and I saw the bride in her bridal gown, sitting in the dirt and I am getting her ready for Jesus to return. As I was helping to prepare her, there were some things missing to make her totally beautiful and complete. Every time I would get something more she needed, I would turn around and she would be dirty again. And I said in my dream to God, “God, why can’t I get the bride clean?” And He said to me, “Look where she is sitting.” I looked and I saw that she was sitting in the earth, in the dust. How can you get someone clean when they sit in the dust? We can do all the washing we can, but it is impossible to keep clean, sitting in the dust. I said, “Lord, how can I get the bride clean and ready so that when You come, her white dress is shining and illuminating and she looks crisp and fresh to meet You?” “You won’t get her clean like that,” the Lord replied. “You have to lift her higher.” When I was thinking how The Church could be lifted higher, I received the revelation in my spirit that a new season is coming to The Church.
In Exodus 19:4 it says, “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.” And also in Deuteronomy 32:11 the Lord declares, “As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings.”
As I read and studied these scriptures the Lord brought light to my understanding, I could see that the Lord is bringing a new perspective and perception to set The Church free from its burden. After four hundred years of slavery, the Lord said he would make the children of Israel prosper, and the Egyptians would give of their wealth to them and the Lord would take away the burden of flesh. The flesh would no longer rule in their lives, but that God was going to make them like an eagle.
After that inspiration from God, I went to the library and I started to study about the eagle. I realized that God was using the examples of the eagle and lion and the others to sow certain characteristics that are required by God.
An eagle is born in a nest, in the highest place that the mother and father eagle can find. He does not know he is an eagle. To become an eagle, we cannot climb up a mountain or climb up a tree. We have to be born into that environment, birthed forth in that life of God where our inner man is awakened. Many times people think that something has to happen to them to become free, but freedom cannot come from the outside, it must come from within us. When freedom comes from without, it will come with a dependency on something or someone. We are not free because we separate ourselves from our mother and father. We are not free because we receive a certain salary or because we reach a certain age. Freedom has to be born from within.
How do I break out to enter a new realm? It says the little eagle has a certain point on its beak that he uses to pierce the shell that separates him from his eagle life. If the mother or father eagle breaks the shell of the egg without letting the baby eagle break it, with its own beak and in its own strength, it will never develop to fly, but it will die. As Christians, many of us have shells in our lives that we cannot penetrate and we see Jesus through the lattice and the window as it speaks of in the Song of Solomon 2:9. Our soul is a window through which we see, but we can only walk through the door, which is Christ, not us. When I walk through the door, Jesus Christ is there to give me a new realm and understanding. An eagle learns how to soar and can be lifted to very high attitudes by the currents of the wind as he learns to skillfully use his wings. I believe if we are going to prosper, we have to learn spiritual temperance where I learn the balance between spirit and flesh, and where I have a balance that one part does not over power the other, and where I find a balance so the wings of the Spirit can take me where I cannot go by myself.
In His Love,
