HOW TO CARRY GOD'S GLORY

2 Samuel 6 speaks of how David brought the ark back to Israel. The ark had been gone for twenty years and David went to bring the ark back to Jerusalem. I realized that David never had a teaching on how to bring in the ark. How do we carry God’s glory? I cannot build a vehicle. Our ministry, marriage, business, or relationships cannot carry God’s glory; it has to be our shoulders. It has to be as we bend low at God’s presence and wait, as I am willing to carry it upon my life.

David remembered what the Philistines did and in this way he confronted God’s presence. Many of us do not know how to deal with God’s presence in our lives. We think that it shows through ministry, what we do and what we are, instead of who we are in God that He might transform us that we might decrease so that He might increase. His glory must increase daily and I must die daily so that God’s power might be seen in my life.

The name Uzzah means boldness, and strength. God killed Uzzah because he touched the ark and He was angry. Today Christians are bold, without realizing the consequences because we know that we are not killed for it. We do things to show forth who God is, thinking that our lives will never be in danger.

David put the ark of the covenant on the ox cart just as the Philistines did. We put it on the ox cart because we are modern and we want to do it the easiest way, then the ox cart stumbles and we lose our boldness.

The Church boldly declares the Name, without a level of weight or without an impact. David was a king and a man after God’s own heart and God loved him. David did not know what to do and for twenty years it was not taught. There was no place for the glory or a priesthood. There was no man ready to bear the ark on his shoulders, to bring in a new level, anointing, surrender, consecration, and a new power. It is not enough to declare who He is, we have to become.

Uzzah died and I thank God for Obed-Edom who was a Levi. Obed-Edom means service to serve. A Levi is someone who serves God, and has no inheritance. He serves and cleans the sanctuary, he brings in the wood, he prepares, and he carries. As everybody was afraid and King David was angry and upset that God did not recognize his intent to bring in a new level of worship and anointing and glory into Jerusalem, he left the ark.

Many of us have dealt with death, death to purpose, death in marriage, death in relationships, death to promises. God sees the intent of our heart, but there is only one way and that is the right way. God will never take our second best; He will never take the low road.

In His Love,
