CHOOSE TO BE CALLED
Jesus told the people, “For many are called but, few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14) How is it that so few actually come into their calling? For one thing, I believe that many try to walk in someone else’s calling and not in their own. They choose someone else’s because they don’t know themselves and their own calling. The only way we become chosen is if we choose to walk in our calling because God is no respecter of persons. God needs all kinds of people to build the temple. Just because the mason thinks the carpenter has a better job, does not mean he can be a carpenter. He has no qualifications for that job. He is needed to fulfill his own task.
To be matured and overcome, we have to choose to walk in the calling God gives us. Abraham, in Genesis 12, had to leave his nation and start a new one, walking by faith, trusting God. Moses was called in Exodus 3 and 4, to set his people free from slavery. Aaron was called to be his mouthpiece. In Judges 6:14 Gideon was called to be a deliverer. Jeremiah and Isaiah were called to be prophets. Jesus calls us and through obedience, we have to fulfill that calling. Many are called, but few are chosen.
No one else can contribute to the body of Christ the calling that you have to give. No one else can take your place if you choose to be chosen and choose to follow your call and give your life to God to use.
