FULFILL YOUR DESTINY
Numbers 27:21 “He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire before the Lord for him by the judgment of the Urim; at his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the children of Israel with him, all the congregation.” So Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation.”
What was the difference in the Joshua generation? Joshua had no longer the power to make a decision in the presence of God, no matter how strong God’s presence was. He had to go before Eleazar, the high priest, and ask advice from the Urim and Thummim, which was a device in the breastplate over the heart of the priest, and the Urim and Thummim would give the decision no matter what Joshua thought.
When we look at ourselves today, we make decisions out of persuasion, out of what we feel in the spirit or out of the intensity of our emotions. Often our decisions are made because our heart is weary, and we come out of the presence of God and do the wrong thing because of the anger in our heart. God is wanting to bring us to a place that we do not react to circumstances or people, but that we become active and know what decisions we must make before the intensity of the moment arrives; not waiting until our back is to the wall. When we come to a crossroads in our lives, we should have the wisdom of God to know where to go because we are already on the right track inside. God is not an opportunist, giving us many doors from which to choose. No, Jesus said He is the door and the way. When we walk on the way, we should know the way and not be persuaded by strong opinions or circumstances to go another way.
There are two ways that we can know how to fulfill our destiny and to make sure that we are walking in the right way. The first way is to walk in the light He is in the light as it says in 1 John1:7 “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” It is the illumination of our spirit that gives us the plan, not only the moment, but far ahead because we have received the revelation.
The second way is through perfection. Perfection has nothing to do with “perfectionism” that is motivated by the desire to control everything and every one because of our insecurities. I do not know exactly how the Urim and the Thummim operated, but I believe there is something that God is saying to us by the Spirit. As I studied what it means to walk in perfection I found that there are three different kinds of perfection...
