WISDOM THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE SUBSTANCE

The tabernacle today is this flesh, my body and your body. God does not want to be a visitor. He wants to inhabit the tabernacle in us, but we need wisdom, understanding and discernment. It is not enough that God speaks to us. We have to live that revealed word in our lives. I know people that have received prophecy and revelation many years ago, but they have never grown into it.

The reason wisdom is called, a ‘she’ in Proverbs is because Solomon wrote the Proverbs in his mature years when he looked upon life and realized that wisdom has a great part to play. There was no man as wise as Solomon was in those days. He knew how to build the temple of the Lord. I believe this was a part of Solomon’s wisdom, to create a habitation where God’s holiness, glory, and presence, could dwell. The ability cannot only come through gifting and the things that the Holy Spirit awakens within us, but we also have to ask God for wisdom.

Proverbs 8:1-2 says, “Does not wisdom cry out, and understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way where the paths meet.” The reason wisdom is a “she” is because we have the ability to produce substance and to bring forth light, and also have the ability to impart. A female has the ability to produce milk and bring substance to satisfy an empty people and to stimulate their appetite, so that they may hunger for Jesus; hunger for their destiny and hunger for what God wants to do in their lives.

Does wisdom not cry out? To cry out means to preach, to proclaim, to address. Understanding lifted up her voice. Understanding means that we can separate things mentally. In America, psychologists say that many people are no longer mentally healthy and that their mindset is so affected from their environment that they do not know how to think healthy thoughts. Everything becomes self-motivated and self-directed, and people do not have the understanding to separate things mentally.

Wisdom takes her stand at the top of the hill because she has the power of authority. In the years that I have been in ministry, I realize this, that there is a time God empowers us with great things, and every age needs an ambition and a hunger to fulfill it. However, there has to come a time when power turns into wisdom and into understanding, when a young man knows God not only in his struggles, but also in victory. It is a place that God imparts the wisdom for direction in our tribulation (pressure on flesh) to know how to discern things rightly; to make a way; to stand on the top of the hill and announce a sound to declare that God has the answer in tribulation. It is a place that God can pour out His spirit in the greatest deprivation and give us the creativity to make the impossible possible.
